The philosophy of film is a great connection between understanding the conscious and the reality of characters while relating it to our everyday lives. As someone who studies the craft of philosophy, I am intrigued by depicting and analyzing films, from the storytelling to the cinematography. They Cloned Tyrone is an amazingly ineffable film that caters to my needs for mystery, comedy, and risk-taking story structure. The story is completely different from what I am used to, but I like it. However, personally, this film raises questions, reactions, and my blood pressure in ways like never before.

They Cloned Tyrone is hands down my favorite movie from this decade. There’s something about the symmetry created within this film that keeps me wondering how I should approach engaging in genuine and intellectual conversations about this movie. The opening scene alone is a philosophical statement, preparing for a thorough down debate between the ghetto and the hood. We're asking ourselves what’s next after rotating in the circle of destruction. Of course, to the outside, looking at the opening scene could be what they truly mean by "ratchet,” but they have yet to see the contribution history of their destruction.

This film itself is a philosophical experience that had me at the edge of my seat throughout the entire movie. Ironically, I was questioning if this was not only a depiction of reality but also if these "experiments" were being conducted in real life. Juel captured the essence of black stereotypes, experiences, and communities in one seraphic setting. Yet everything wasn’t so empirically made in the story; the setting made up for the unwavering concepts of black struggles. The soundtrack transcends us into the dimensions where we first heard those songs. It also gave us insight into how mind control happens daily in the music industry.

Overall, this film is a mystery of black culture. The close attention to detail makes me wonder daily while transforming systematic dreams into realities. This cast has the perfect way of capturing and developing the essence of black culture. It was an honor to watch John, Jamie, and Teyonah’ relationship on camera while giving their supportive characters a chance to shine.
Philosophically, “They Cloned Tyrone” really made its mark on society by making us believe, question our beliefs, and identify social norms. Most say this movie was flex on black culture, and in a way, I agree. Yet Juel insists on this movie being a thought in one's mind. I see exactly what he means each time I watch it. Every single time, I have a different point of view and reaction.
I could watch this movie every day and still have questions. Some of my main questions are…
Where does Fontaine go from here?
How does Fontaine mentally react to being “free” of being cloned?
When was YoYo born?
Was the old man at the corner store a victim of being cloned?
I’d like to know your thoughts on this film and your answers to the questions above.
This movie was everything
so good.
